Interport UAE Operations • Sea freight Direct Gateway

Interport coordinates scheduled ocean freight connecting UAE ports—principally Jebel Ali Port (DP World) and Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa Port—with major trade hubs across Asia, Europe, North America, the Red Sea, and Africa. We operate contracted space allocations with Tier-1 global ocean carriers, safeguarding slot availability during peak seasons and market crunches.

Every consignment is handled by our dedicated Dubai operations desk from the initial booking note and equipment release through to terminal gate-in, vessel stowage, bill of lading issuance, and destination arrival notice. Whether you require full container load (FCL), economical consolidated less-than-container load (LCL), or heavy breakbulk stowage, our team ensures complete accountability.

Frequently asked questions

Clear answers regarding rates, transit cut-offs, customs, and documentation.

What is the difference between FCL and LCL shipping?

Full Container Load (FCL) reserves an entire 20-foot or 40-foot container exclusively for your goods, offering faster transit without co-loading. Less than Container Load (LCL) consolidates your cargo with other shippers in a shared container, allowing you to pay only for the exact cubic meters (CBM) your goods occupy.

How many days before vessel departure must cargo be at Jebel Ali Port?

For standard dry FCL containers, the terminal gate-in cut-off is typically 48 hours prior to the scheduled vessel departure. For hazardous (DG) cargo or reefer units, specialized approvals require delivery within a tighter 24 to 36-hour window before vessel berthing.

Can Interport handle customs clearance at both origin and destination?

Yes. In the UAE, Interport handles import, export, and transit declarations directly through Dubai Customs (Mirsal II). For global destinations, our network of vetted forwarder partners manages import customs clearance and destination door delivery under DAP or DDP terms.

Can you handle out-of-gauge or project cargo by sea?

Yes. We frequently charter and book flat racks, open tops, and breakbulk under-deck vessel space for heavy industrial plant machinery, boilers, vehicles, and oversized equipment.
